unique ecosystem and the delicate balance and complexities of Everglades restoration
with the importance of preserving South Florida’s source of clean drinking water. His
perseverance to restore the flow of water through the Everglades to its original flow has
been the focus of much of his advocacy. As he explains, “If I give anything back to the
community in my lifetime, it’s the preservation of the history of the Everglades and the
protection of the Everglades themselves.
Over the past 30 years Bergeron has raised millions of dollars at his private ranch, for
many worthy charitable organizations. The construction of a museum that celebrates the
Everglades and Florida’s culture and heritage has been a long-standing goal of Bergeron’s
which he is working to make a reality.
